Office of the Professions

The New York State Education Department’s Office of the Professions, through the Board of Regents, investigates and prosecutes alleged misconduct in all licensed professions other than medicine. Examples of professional misconduct range from patient abandonment to criminal behavior to tortuous conduct, just to name a few. If the Board of Regents finds a professional guilty of misconduct, the potential ramifications include censure and reprimand, heavy fines (up to $10,000 per violation), and even license revocation.

Disciplinary action by the Board of Regents could mean the end of a career. When so much is at stake, clients can take comfort in the knowledge that Geisler & Gabriele’s team of experienced litigators provides superior representation when the firm’s clients need it the most.
